A Tatty’s consignment receipt

Why Sell at Tatty’s?

By choosing to resell with Tatty’s you are giving your items the best possible chance of finding their new home. Tatty’s has perfected the art of in-store resale. Established in 2006 by Aimee Egdell, Tatty’s benefits from the founder's 20 years of pre-existing expertise within the consignment fashion industry. Tatty’s will do all the hard work for you - market research, photography, selling and shipping, and has four stores in high fashion retail locations across Auckland. Our dedicated and seasoned stock team harness their industry experience, with careful and relative research, along with Tatty's 20 years of sales pricing data to determine the accurate store location and price for your items. With competitive commission rates, the more valuable the piece the higher percentage you can receive. Payment requests can be made through your user portal, and payments are processed daily Monday through Friday.

How to Sell

Prepare

Freshly wash your garments and make sure they are in a sellable condition. Check for broken or missing hardware, clear out pockets, check inside of handbags and remove any pet hair, odours and mud.

Visit

Drop off your packaged consignment to any of the 4 Tatty’s store locations during opening hours. You'll be asked to fill in and sign a stock arrival identification form and choose whether you prefer to have items presented for assessment but not accepted for re-sale returned to you.

Make sure you allow enough time for your visit, especially if dropping off during the weekend. We recommend allowing around 10 minutes to complete an in store consignment drop off.

Unaccepted items returned - Yes or No?

If you opt YES to collect your unaccepted items (also known as ‘Returns’) any items presented for assessment, and not accepted for resale, will be held at our Kingsland location for you to collect within 7 days of your consignment being assessed and processed. You can check on your consignment’s status through your user portal. Please be aware that due to the volume of items we handle we cannot list items that we have not selected for sale.

If not collected within the 7 day time frame the unaccepted items will be disposed of at Tatty’s sole discretion.

If you opt NO to collecting your unaccepted items then any items presented for assessment, and not accepted for resale, will be disposed of at Tatty’s sole discretion at the point of processing. Unfortunately due to the volume we handle, if you opt NO, we are unable to retrieve any items once they have been assessed and your consignment processed.

We generally suggest all new sign ups opt to collect their unaccepted items, so you can get a better idea of what each of our four Tatty’s stores are looking for!

In Store

Once processed the items accepted for sale will be listed on your user portal. Your items will be sold in-store and online over a six week period. When entering their 4th week in stock, unsold items will be reduced by 50%. All items sold receive a minimum 45% commission (ex. gst), and we do offer a tiered commission structure for special high end items. If you’d like to discuss consigning any special items please do so prior to consigning, contact us at tattys@tattys.co.nz

You can easily track the progress of your items over the six week selling period through your online account. Sales and all status changes are processed in real time, meaning full transparency between Tatty’s and you the consignor, from your initial consignment drop off, to your sales, transactions and even all archived items from previous consignments.

Should there be any unsold items you wish to collect, visit the Tatty’s store location the items have been selling at either on, or prior to, the listed 6 week expiration date assigned to your items. Let a team member know and they will assist you with reconciling your account.
